Privacy policy
Addy helps people collect mailing addresses from friends. This page says what we store, who can see it, and how to delete it.
What we store
- Your name, as shared from Sign in with Apple on first sign-in.
- Your Apple user identifier (an opaque ID, never your Apple password).
- Your own postal address, if you choose to save it.
- Your connections: the names, phone numbers or email addresses you add, and the postal addresses they confirm with you.
Recipients who confirm an address through a link don't need an account. We store the address they submit with the sender who asked for it, and nothing else. If a recipient chooses to leave an email address to hear about Addy, we store that email for product updates only; reply to any message or write to the address below to be removed.
Who sees it
- Addresses are shared only with the people you've approved. There are no public profiles, no search, and no directory.
- A link shows your address only to the one person who sent it.
- If you disconnect from someone, they get no future updates from you.
What we don't do
- We never sell your data, and we don't run ads.
- Our revenue comes from referrals to card and gift printers, stated plainly when you use them.
Change-of-address checks (NCOA)
To keep addresses fresh, Addy may check saved addresses against the USPS National Change of Address (NCOA) service. This sends only the address itself to the service and is used solely to flag an address that may be out of date.
Delete your account
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time (Settings → Delete account). Deletion removes your user record, your sessions, your saved address and every connection and address you collected, in one step and without contacting support. Technically this is DELETE /api/v1/me.
