Common questions
I got a text with an Addy link. What is it?
Someone you know is collecting mailing addresses, probably for holiday cards. Tap the link, check the address, tap Send. Only the person who sent the link sees it. You don't need an account or the app.
The link opened a web page instead of the App Clip.
That's fine. The web page does exactly the same thing. The App Clip appears on iPhones once the sender's message reaches you through Messages; on Android or a computer you always get the web page.
Do recipients need to install anything?
No. The App Clip runs without installing Addy, and the web page works everywhere. Creating an account is optional; it lets a person update their address once for everyone they've shared it with.
How do I import my existing list?
In the app, tap + → Import CSV and pick a file from Shutterfly, Minted, Google Sheets, Numbers or Excel. Addy maps the columns and shows a preview before importing. Only a name is required per row.
Why does Addy ask for Contacts access?
Two optional reasons: to fill in your own address from your contact card (you can share just your card), and to match people on your list to their phone numbers and emails. Nothing from Contacts leaves your phone until you send a link.
Someone confirmed, but I don't see it.
Pull down on the list to refresh. Confirmations also arrive whenever you open the app.
How do I stop sharing my address with someone?
My Address → Who can see my address, then swipe to remove them. They keep the address they already have but get no future updates.
How do I delete my account?
My Address → Delete account. It removes your address, your list and every link immediately. No email required.
